Finding Jesus
The whole Bible tells one story — and that story is Jesus. Below is the Gospel walked through Scripture, often called the "Romans Road." Take it slowly. Tap any reference to read it for yourself.
God loves you and made you for Himself
Before anything else, the Gospel begins with love. God isn't distant or indifferent — He made you on purpose and loves you personally. "But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (). Whatever your past, His love came first.
We are all separated from God by sin
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (). Sin isn't just the obvious things — it's any way we've turned from God's design, in actions, words, or the quiet rebellion of the heart. None of us are exempt, and no amount of trying harder can erase it.
Sin has a real cost
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (). Sin separates us from a holy God, both now and forever. But notice the second half of the verse — God's response to our debt is a gift we could never earn.
Jesus paid the price in our place
,
This is the heart of the good news. Jesus — fully God and fully man — lived the sinless life we couldn't live, then died on the cross taking the punishment we deserved. "For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God" (). Three days later He rose from the grave, defeating death itself.
Salvation is received by faith, not earned
,
"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (). You don't clean yourself up first. You come as you are, trust what Jesus has done, and surrender your life to Him as Lord.
A new life begins today
,
"Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus" (). The moment you trust Christ, you are forgiven, adopted into God's family, and given His Spirit. "If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" ().
A prayer to respond
There are no magic words — God hears the honest heart. But if you want a place to begin, you could pray something like this:
Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I know I've sinned and that I can't save myself. Thank You for dying in my place and rising again. I turn from my old life and trust You as my Saviour and Lord. Make me new. Lead me from this day on. Amen.
If you prayed that prayer…
- Tell someone. Sharing what just happened helps make it real and invites others to walk with you.
- Find a Bible-teaching church. You were never meant to follow Jesus alone.
- Read the Gospel of John. Start where Jesus is the clearest — His own words and works.
- Walk through this devotional. 66 days, every book of the Bible, meeting Jesus on every page.
"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."
